Now you know… just how fun women’s basketball is. The Fever are tipping off another season with a revamped roster. Somehow, the excitement is even higher than last year.
Here’s what you need to know if you plan to head to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a Fever game day.
Family activities for 2025
Family nights
Family nights have returned! Tickets start at just $28 and include a Fever hat, hot dog, chips, and a drink. You can’t beat it.
This offer is available for the following games:
- June 3 vs. the Washington Mystics
- June 26 vs. the Los Angeles Sparks
- July 30 vs. the Phoenix Mercury
- Aug. 26 vs. the Seattle Storm
Freddy’s Kids Club
Sign your children up for the new Freddy’s Kids Club. For $30, they receive a t-shirt, badge, collectible Freddy Fever, and discounted tickets to four designated Freddy’s Kids Club games.
Pre-game activities
You can find some family activities around the concourse before the game, including photo ops, face painting, and caricature drawings.
Fever Game Day Parking
I know this is the info many of you are here for. Gone are the days of pulling up to the Virginia Ave Parking Garage just before tip-off. The garage (the one attached to the field house) is typically sold out. Season pass holders occasionally sell their garage passes on Ticketmaster, but if you don’t buy one ahead of time, it’s probably smart to look elsewhere.
Here are some nearby lots and garages for consideration.
- CityWay North Garage, 237 S Delaware St.
- Union Station Garage, 301 S Meridian St.
- Alabama St Lot, 101 S Alabama St. (Park close to the exit if you can!)
- Circle Centre Blue Garage, 26 W Georgia St.
- Merchant’s Garage, 31 S Meridian St.
- Norle Lot, 28 E South St.
- City Park Garage, 120 E Washington St.
- 25 E South St lot, 25 E South St.
There are more garages a little further away. My personal favorite is the Express Park Garage next to the Winner’s Circle.
Pro tip: If you’re like me and prefer to know exactly where you will park, you can buy passes in advance through ParkWhiz.
If you ride your bike, bike racks are located under the Virginia Avenue Garage on the corner near Maryland Street. You can bring your helmet into the arena.
Inside the Arena
The arena is cashless.
Only small purses—think fanny pack size—are allowed. Clear bags are not. I cannot overstate how particular they are about this. They make me test my purse in the size bin every time I go. They will make exceptions for diaper bags.
Gates open 60 minutes before game time. To get into Gainbridge, you must pass a metal detector.
Pro tip: Smartwatches set off the metal detectors about 50% of the time. A security guard told me to try covering it with my hand.
Concessions
All concessions are open (which wasn’t always the case). Some of the highlights include:
- Three Point Taquiera (Section 6 and 115)
- Orange Leaf (Section 7)
- Please & Thank You Cookies (Section 9)
- Chick-fil-A (Sections 11 and 208)
- The Shake Bar (Section 11)
- Crossroads Eats Operated by Mambos (Section 13) – my personal favorite
- Warehouse District BBQ (Sections 15 and 216)
- Delaware St. Pizzeria (Section 105)
- Boom Baby! Burgers (Section 117)
The arena has all the classics (hot dogs, chicken tenders) and many beer, wine, and liquor options.
Pro tip: They have Fast Break grab-n-go concession stands at Sections 4, 18, 101, and 209. Scan your credit card to enter, grab what you want, and leave. You will be billed automatically upon exiting. It’s fast and easy. They have cans of beer, cocktails, soda, wine, and some snacks.
The Team Store is very busy on game days. Plan accordingly.
Pro tip: Our secret is to go shopping or get food during the first quarter.
For parents of littles
Kids under two do not require a ticket. Parents with young children are permitted to bring diaper bags, plastic bottles, and formula into the building. You can store your collapsible strollers beneath your seat.
Mothers Rooms are located on the Main Concourse at Section 2 and at Section 119 on the Krieg DeVault level by the Guest Services desk. Changing tables are in the handicap-accessible stalls of both women’s and men’s restrooms (yay equality) on all levels. Gender-neutral restrooms are available on all levels of the building.
The arena offers a free service called Boomers Buddies. Grown-ups can write their information on a bracelet to put on their child in case they get separated. To register, visit Guest Services on any level of Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Pro tip: They often hand out teddy bears during the first quarter mandatory timeout. Stay in your seat to try your luck. However, not all kids get a prize, so this is the perfect time for a food run if your children don’t handle disappointment well. (I’ve wiped away tears several times.)
New year, new team
The team has many new faces this season. Key additions include:
- Coach Stephanie White previously played and coached for the Fever.
- Natasha Howard was drafted by the Fever in 2014.
- Dewanna Bonner ranks third in WNBA history for career points.
Pro tip: Familiarize yourself with the roster.
In July, Indy will become the center of the women’s basketball universe when we host the WNBA All-Star game. Game tickets are sold out, but there will be plenty of other activities to enjoy.
If you’re a new fan, welcome! We’re happy to have you. Fever game days are the best.
