Books&Brews is a unique place with two locations where you can grab a beer, check out their variety of used books (in which proceeds support Indy Reads), and play a game for a casual and chill afternoon.

Punch Bowl Social, located in downtown Indianapolis, provides all the fun with bowling, vintage arcade games and table games too! Grab a bite to eat from their full menu and a drink of choice while you play.

Pins Mechanical Co. is a very similar vibe to Punch Bowl Social and is located in the Bottleworks district. Grab some lunch from the Garage Food Hall then head over to Pins to play fun games!

Massage Heights offers affordable massages for first timers so why not schedule an afternoon couples massage together? Add in the hot stones while you’re at it!

Goose the Market has a cellar where you can split a charcuterie board and a glass of wine together or grab the sandwich of the day.

Speedway Indoor Karting will make all your need for speed dreams come true as you zip around their indoor tracks in go karts.

Rize offers amazing farm to table breakfast and lunch options and has three locations – Carmel, Fishers, and Ironworks. Grab a house blended smoothie, kombucha or a tasty breakfast bowl to fill your stomach and soul.

Newfields is magical place here in Indianapolis that is just perfect for a day date out! You can explore the 100 acres, visit the Lilly House and grab a beer at the Beer Garden all in one day. Check their website before you go, there may be some elements closed for the season.

The Sun King Carmel Distillery has handmade spirits and beer right in the heart of Midtown Carmel. You can get your food and take it outside to enjoy the weather (when it’s warm out of course) or even play a game of Cornhole.

The Escape Room Fishers is an interactive adventure game where you are locked in a room and have one hour to get out. Using the clues, solving the puzzles and finding the keys are the only way you will be able to “escape” your room!

Midland Arts and Antique Market is super fun if you’re looking for vintage pieces for your home…or maybe you aren’t looking for anything at all! This place is filled with all the treasures and you will both spend hours browsing the unique trinkets they have in stock. Sometimes it’s fun to just window shop too!


Casual Date Ideas

Tappers Arcade Bar is located in the historic Fletcher’s Place and offers a variety of local craft beer plus some tasty cocktails and is filled with over 60 free-to-place classic arcade games. Yes, we are talking Donkey Kong and PacMan.

Bad Axe Throwing is the ideal way to relieve some stress during date night by throwing axes – yes, axes! Put on your flannel, pack your own snacks and get ready for an evening of friendly competition.

Hotel Tango lets you grab a cocktail or a mocktail and cozy up in their chic atmosphere with your date.

16-Bit Bar and Arcade is another local arcade bar that is located next to University Square and perfect for a casual evening out.

Penn & Beech has scent experts that will help you and your date blend oils together to create your own candle that you will love.

Gallery Pastry Shop has two locations and they are both so beautifully decorated! The Gallery on 16th offers a Pasta Night special every Thursday night. From their website, “$25 gets you chef’s choice pasta with endless salad and breadsticks. To top it all off, we also have half off wine bottles and $1 macarons available for purchase all day.”

ComedySportz, now playing at the Wit Theater on the southside of Indianapolis, offers live comedy shows that will have you laughing together all night long.

Atomic Bowl has vintage duckpin bowling lanes in Fountain Square that makes for a fun date night! The game is a little different than regular bowling but easy to pick up quickly.

Keystone Art Cinema & Indie Lounge has two locations – the Fashion Mall and in Glendale – and is great if you want to catch dinner and movie at the same time! Grab your movie tickets, then order your food and drinks and take them into your movie for a low-key evening together.

The White Rabbit Cabaret is in the heart of Fountain Square. This venue hosts a variety of entertainment from musical acts to burlesque shows – and so much more! Seating is first-come, first served so be sure to get there early.

Garfield Brewery is located in the heart of Garfield Park. It’s your neighborhood brewery and whether you have been there one time or twenty times, the quaint atmosphere makes you feel at home, which is perfect for a casual date night.

Syd’s Fine Food & Spirits is the epitome of classic “dive bar” that has been around since well, forever. But if you’re looking for some good bar food and even better company, you definitely can find it at Syd’s in Noblesville.

Bonge’s Tavern is located in Perkinsville and it’s definitely a must-do date night experience! Meals are a bit pricer than usual but we promise it’s worth every penny. You will never forget that Perkinsville Pork. Bonge’s is small and fills up quick so get there early or grab your chairs to enjoy the tailgating before you get a seat!


Fancy Date Night Ideas

Beef & Boards lets you dress up, grab dinner and enjoy a Broadway musical and live play. “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” is playing now until the end of March!

The Eagle’s Nest is fine dining in downtown Indianapolis on the rooftop of the Hyatt Regency. Enjoy a delicious dinner in the trendy, revolving eatery and get the 360 degree views of the city.

Anthony’s Chophouse is a family owned restaurant in downtown Carmel. Enjoy a steak dinner and then head to 3UP Rooftop Bar above Anthony’s for a cocktail and views of the city.

Nicky Blaine’s Cocktail Lounge has classic cocktails, fine wines and light bites which makes a perfect late evening date. They also have over 25 different brands of cigars and offer a relaxed environment where you can kick back in an armchair and take some time to connect with your partner.

Iozzo’s Garden of Italy is an authentic Italian restaurant perfect for a fancy date night. Iozzo’s is located near Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indy, so make sure you have your parking or Uber situation planned out in advance. Totally worth it though, because the menu is *chef’s kiss* and their wine list is impressive.

Tastings Wine Bar and Bistro has over 100 wines in stock that you can taste and enjoy. You simply read the description at the tasting stations, use your Tastings Card to pour yourself a quick sip and take notes on your notecards about your favorites. Then you can buy a bottle and an appetizer to enjoy together.

Indiana Repertory Theatre has a variety of plays throughout the year from artists and actors all around the country. With affordable tickets you could plan on a couple of shows throughout the year!
