Activities are pricey. Man, are they pricey. Basketball games, museums, the zoo, shoot even going to the movies is expensive. The good news is there is help available, but it can be hard to find. Indianapolis Moms strives to keep you informed of the latest and greatest, and we recently came across a program called Access Pass.

Access Pass
Access Pass is supported by Geico and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Access Pass is a free program, supported by Geico and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, for any Indiana resident (child or adult) who is actively enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise Insurance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and/or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Once enrolled, Access Pass cardholders receive admission at any partner institution for $2 per family member per visit for up to two adults and dependent youth under 21 years old living in the household. Awesome, right?

Good for one year, a membership will get you into 16 partner museums and cultural attractions, most in Indianapolis, but some great locations outside Central Indiana.

  • BellaBoo’s: a Children’s Play & Discovery Center
  • Conner Prairie Interactive History Park
  • Crispus Attucks Museum
  • Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
  • Indiana Historical Society
  • Indiana Repertory Theatre
  • Indiana State Museum & Historic Sites
  • Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum
  • The NCAA Hall of Champions
  • Newfields
  • Rhythm! Discovery Center
  • Terre Haute’s Children’s Museum
  • The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis
  • WonderLab Museum in Bloomington
  • Fort Wayne Museum of Art
  • Indianapolis Ballet

Additionally, there is an Access Pass Blog that will keep members up to date on all the special activities or events happening at the above partner attractions. This month they are focused on locations with events for Black History Month.

Program enrollment is available online through the Access Pass website. You may also enroll in or renew an existing Access Pass in person. Qualifying families can visit any of the participating venues (except Indiana Repertory Theatre, Indianapolis Ballet, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum) with the required documentation and completed application. Those interested in the program can call 1-317-334-400, Monday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., with any questions regarding the Access Pass program.

I hope some of you are able to take advantage of the Access Pass and get out and enjoy some of these fantastic area attractions. Have fun!
