As summer approaches, Butler Community Arts School (BCAS), located on the campus of Butler University, is excited to share its lineup of immersive arts camp experiences for 2024. At the heart of BCAS’s mission is the commitment to providing access to high-quality arts education, fostering an environment where creativity and cultural enrichment thrive.

What You Can Expect at Butler Community Arts School Summer Camp

BCAS summer camps offer a diverse array of programs catered to individuals of all ages and skill levels, spanning from young children to adults. Participants have the opportunity to explore their artistic passions and develop their skills under the guidance of expert instructors. Whether it’s through music, dance, theatre, or visual arts, BCAS camps provide a transformative educational experience that creates passion, fosters growth, and nurtures talent.

“We’re thrilled to offer a range of fulfilling camps that cater to diverse interests and backgrounds,” said Megan Sheeley, Communications Coordinator at BCAS. “Our goal is to make sure the arts remain a universal right rather than a privilege.”

Among the highlights of this year’s summer camps are:

  • Hip Hop Camp: Dive into the vibrant culture of hip hop and learn about the five pillars of the culture from industry professionals. Tuition assistance is available for eligible participants.
  • Percussion Camp: Explore the world of rhythm and percussion, mastering techniques on a variety of instruments and exploring different musical styles. Tuition assistance is available for eligible participants.
  • Intergenerational Pride Festival Choir Camp: Join voices with singers of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate diversity and inclusivity through the power of music. All students ages 14-18 get free camp tuition.

About the Summer Camp Program

All BCAS camps are staffed by the Butler University expert faculty, who are supported by Jordan College of the Arts (JCA) Teaching Artists. With their guidance and expertise, participants receive top-notch instruction and mentorship, ensuring a rewarding and enriching experience.

In addition to the exceptional educational opportunities, BCAS offers a housing and meal package option for 12-18 year-old camps. Overnight stays provide campers with a chance to live like a college student, complete with a week-long stay in campus dorms on Butler University, meals at Atherton Union Dining Hall, and exploration on campus with Resident Assistants who are current Butler students. Resident Assistants and a Dorm Chaperone supervise campers overnight and organize evening activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Registration for BCAS summer camps is open until May 24th, 2024, with camp requirements, pricing, deadlines, and all camp offerings available on the BCAS Camp website. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore your creativity and join us at Butler Community Arts School camps this summer!
