As parents and constant caregivers to our loved ones, it is easy for our own health to fall by the wayside. But at Indianapolis Moms, we are here to tell you to make yourself a priority! We recommend scheduling a free consultation with Affinity Whole Health. You’ll walk into their office and notice right away how welcoming the staff is, and Kait knows this firsthand. She recently connected with Zac Richman, general manager and one of the patient care coordinators with Affinity Whole Health for the Indianapolis and Carmel area. They discussed the services Affinity Whole Health provides and how you can take the steps to make your own health a priority.

What type of services does Affinity Whole Health provide for patients?

Not only does Affinity Whole Health provide weight loss services, which have become astronomically popular in the last year – including semaglutide and tirzepatide shots – they also provide hormone therapy for patients. “Our main specialty is really hormone and testosterone replacement for women and men,” says Richman. They also provide supplements to patients, including those for energy, hair, and skincare. “It’s a pretty detailed process to figure out what people are looking for and how we can help,” he says.

What is the process like – from the beginning to treatment – for a new patient with Affinity Whole Health?

The staff at Affinity Whole Health keeps the process easy and convenient for patients, with three steps:

  1. Lab draw – The first step in the process is coming in for a lab draw, and this appointment is a quick in-and-out appointment. You’ll sit down with a patient care coordinator, fill out forms, schedule your consult with a provider, and they can answer any initial questions you have.
  2. Consult – The second step is to come in for the consult with one of their providers. They will break down the lab results with you and go over everything they suggest for treatment based on your lab results.
  3. Ordering treatment(s) – After your consult, if any treatments are being prescribed, a patient coordinator will follow up with you to see if you are ready to order any suggested treatments.

The convenience factor doesn’t stop there. Richman says everything is sent right to your door. “You do everything in the comfort of your home, but we’re with you the whole way, too. So if you ever have any questions, we’ll get involved and help you throughout your journey with us.”

What can patients expect when it comes to treatment costs? Does insurance cover them?

Richman explains that insurance companies unfortunately do not cover treatments provided by Affinity Whole Health, even when the treatments are legitimate prescriptions from their providers. However, you can use your HSA or FSA cards to pay for treatments. All costs can be either paid in full or broken up to monthly payments. During consults, he does go over this with each patient and recommends sharing the prescription and receipt with the insurance company to try and get reimbursement. It doesn’t work often, but he says it’s worth a try.

Lab and consult costs: Richman says if you are only interested in doing the basic lab draw – not the full hormone lab panel – for the weight loss injections only, that lab draw and consult is completely free. If you opt in on the full hormone lab panel, the cost is $99 (including your consult).

Treatment costs: Weight loss injections are $250 a month, or $1,250 total if you’re paying in full. Richman says the full order of medication can last 4-10 months, depending on your dosage. Hormone medication costs vary, because Affinity Whole Health customizes to each individual. They could range from one hormonal treatment ($300-$400 for a 6-month supply), to multiple hormonal treatments (around $1,500 for a 6-month supply).

What makes Affinity Whole Health different from other health clinics?

“It’s our attention to detail,” says Richman. “I can’t tell you how many folks have come here from other places looking for different options.” Richman explains that they have had many people bring in labs from other facilities that aren’t as detailed. Those patients often express frustration at the lack of resources from their previous provider, and are looking for alternative treatments.

Another factor that stands out from other facilities is their communication. When a patient comes in for the initial consult, the patient care coordinator will ask what form of communication is prefered, and will stick with that. Whether a patient prefers text, email, or phone calls, Affinity Whole Health makes communication easy for patients.

How can someone schedule an evaluation with Affinity Whole Health?

The Affinity Whole Health website is a great resource to help you dig into more information. The website has a contact page where you can provide your contact information and a patient care coordinator will reach out to you. You can also call their office at 866-936-9925.
