Now that this weather is becoming less fickle and staying warm, we can buy our plants for the warmer seasons. I always like to get a couple of plants to decorate our front and back areas that are easy to keep alive during warm weather, and it’s important to support local, even when it comes to plants. Allisonville Home & Garden by Sullivan

Where: 11405 Allisonville Rd, Fishers, IN 46038
About: One of our favorite nurseries in Indianapolis is Allisonville Home & Garden. From the owners of Sullivan Hardware & Garden, Allisonville Home & Garden is a north side staple. The original owners started their nursery in 1976 and it has grown from 15 spruce trees to a massive garden store and home decor gift shop. They are very active on their Facebook page, make sure to follow them for all the latest!


Habig Garden Shops & The Garden Cottage

Where: 15311 North Meridian St, Carmel, IN 46033 | 1225 East 86th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240
About: Located in Carmel and Nora, the Habig Garden Shops & The Garden Cottage are family-owned and have a variety of indoor and outdoor plants, gardening tools, decor, and pottery. Look for their infamous garden trowel at their Carmel location, and check out the adorable cottage at their Nora location.


Wasson Nursery

Where: 13279 E 126th St, Fishers, IN 46037
About: Wasson Nursery has a garden center in Fishers as well as services like landscaping, groundskeeping, and lawn maintenance. You can make a complimentary lawn & landscape appointment with a coordinator on their website. They also have an online store where can order a lot of their products for delivery or curbside pick-up. Items include mulch, topsoil, perennials, and shrubs.


Eagle Creek Nursery & Landscape

Where: 8160 Lafayette Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46278
About: Eagle Creek Nursery & Landscape, just north of Traders Point, has a large variety of plants, trees, and shrubs for you to up your landscaping game. They invite you to walk around their “park-like nursery” and chat with their knowledgeable horticulturists and plant experts about your at-home projects while you are there.


Geist Nursery

Where: 9890 Mollenkopf Rd, Fishers, IN 46037
About: Family-owned and operated since 1977, Geist Nursery is another great option to peruse while in the Fishers area. When you visit their garden center, you will find locally grown annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, pottery, and much more! Their website keeps an up-to-date inventory for you to check before visiting their center.


Andrea’s Garden Center

Where: 5412 E 65th St, Indianapolis, IN 46220
About: Trees, shrubs, perennials, oh my! Andrea’s Garden Center was opened in 2001 and strives to inspire the community to “play in the dirt” and are open year-round. Check out their product page to see what is available. They offer services along with their nursery, like landscape installation, consultations, and maintenance.


Rosie’s Gardens and Hughes Landscape

Where: 10402 N College Ave, Nora, IN 46280
About: With over twelve acres of retail space, Rosie’s Gardens and Hughes Landscape is another family-owned and operated northside nursery that offers you a chance to shop and consult their experts. Their greenhouses are filled and always changing. Also, they are a fan of the Grow-Your-Own movement and can help you get started with growing your own vegetables. Please note that they are still open during construction as they improve their parking lot and add new buildings and a beautiful greenhouse.


Dammann’s Garden Company

Where: 5129 Emerson Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46237
About: Dammann’s Garden Company is located on the southside of Indianapolis, and they specialize in the usual garden center items, including trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and “everything the home gardener may need to create a stunning landscape.” They also offer indoor houseplants and beautiful succulents. Their website features a cool plant library for informational purposes.


Salsbery Garden Center

Where: 6346 W Broadway, McCordsville, IN 46055
About: Salsbery Garden Center, located in McCordsville (with a second location in Kokomo), invites you to visit their garden centers “for inspiration and creative ideas to improve the curb appeal of your home and garden areas.” They even offer children’s gardening tools so you can have your tiny assistant with you while you garden!


Dammann’s Lawn & Garden Center

Where: 4914 Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46224
About: Not to be mistaken for Dammann’s Garden Company, the Dammann’s Lawn & Garden Center is locally owned and operated. Check out the garden resources tab on their website to see what is growing in their nursery, in their greenhouse, and for gardening tips.


Backyard Blessings Garden Center

Where: 8005 E 30th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219
About: To finish off our list of nurseries in Indianapolis, Backyard Blessings Garden Center is another great garden center located in Lawrence. They offer a large selection of trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, and houseplants.


Alice’s Garden

Where: 3205 West 71st St, Indianapolis, IN 46268
About: This adorable little garden center called Alice’s Garden not only has plants, but they also have “unique gifts for yourself and the people you love.” They also offer workshops for those that want tips on being a green thumb, for example, how to repot your plants in the Spring. Sign me up!
