Events Around Our City
February 1st
Storytime at Cool Creek
Storytime at Cool Creek Nature Center is back in February! Click here to register for February 1st at 10:30 am, where you and your littles will hear a story all about winter. You also get to do a craft together after the story.
February 3rd
Slippery Slimy Science! at the Children’s Museum
The Children’s Museum is hosting Slippery Slimy Science! on February 3rd from 9:15-10:00 am. In this paid experience, your 3–5 year-old child will:
- Actively participate in sensory play-based science experiments that will teach new science concepts and vocabulary.
- Complete three scientific experiments—Oobleck, Clean Mud, and Slime.
- Work together with their family as a team of scientists.
Tickets are available at the link above, with adults $2-$4 and children $20-$25.
February 3rd
Junior Yogis
For families with children 3-6 years old, head to the Boys and Girls Club in Zionsville for Junior Yogis. The first date to get tickets is February 3rd, and here are the remaining dates: February 10th, February 17th, and February 24th. The event website says kids “will enjoy imaginative activities to introduce yoga, mindfulness, relaxation and breathing. Caregivers are encouraged to participate as well. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or beach towel. Participants will be asked to remove their shoes.”
February 4th
My Punny Valentine Trail at Eagle Creek Park
This fun, unique event is available for you and your family to enjoy from February 4th-17th. My Punny Valentine Trail at Eagle Creek Park will be set up along Pin Oak Trail, where you can walk through and seek over 40 nature valentine puns, quips, and play on words to help you celebrate. Bundle up and prepare to laugh!
February 5th
Indy Fuel PJammin & Family Fun Day
Put your kiddos in their PJs and have fun at an Indy Fuel game on Sunday, February 5th during PJammin and Family Fun Day! Kids eat free and can enjoy a post-game skate with the team. PJammin is an organization that helps raise awareness for childhood cancer and provides free resources to cancer patients and their families.

Books & Brews in Brownsburg is hosting their Pokémon League on February 5th from 6:00-8:00 pm. All ages and experience levels are welcome on the first and third Sunday of each month – have fun battling!

Lego Challenge Club at Avon Library
Register here for the Lego Challenge Club at the Avon-Washington Township Public Library on February 7th. They supply the legos and you complete the challenge! This event is for kids in the 1st-4th grade, and this event is held every first Thursday of the month at 4:30 pm.
February 8th
Wild Play Wednesdays at the W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park
Discover new ways to play outside during Wild Play Wednesdays! Hosted at the W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park playground, Wild Play Wednesdays is on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 2:00-4:00 pm. This fun event is appropriate for all ages and free to attend.

Toddler Trek at Creekside Nature Park
Grab your winter coats and head to Creekside Nature Park for Toddler Trek! Best for kids five years and younger, Toddler Trek helps you and your kiddos get out of the house and experience nature, which has numerous benefits for your child’s physical and emotional well-being. And the event is only one hour, from 10:00-11:00 am.
February 11th
Hoot and Heart at Painting with a Twist
Hoot and Heart is a fun, Valentine’s Day themed painting class on February 11th from 12:30-2:00 pm at Painting with a Twist in Indianapolis. This class is designed for kids with simple, fun art. And what’s cuter than a pink owl holding a heart? The minimum age is five years old, and if both parents want to join, you’ll have to purchase a separate seat.

The Great Train Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds
Train lovers, unite! The Great Train Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds allows you to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of miniature railroading. The weekend of February 11th and 12th is sure to be a fun and old-fashioned time, with each show featuring hundreds of tables of trains, accessories, scale models, and collectible toys for sale. These Valentine’s Day celebrations will make you swoon at Nickel Plate Arts! Valentine’s Day For All, from February 11th through Valentine’s Day, has crafts, poetry, dessert, and a Galentine’s Day brunch. There is something exciting for everyone to explore at the 20th Annual Geofest at the Indiana State Museum. There are three days and three floors of “rock, mineral, and fossil vendors along with hands-on activities and community partner displays.”

Broadway in Indy presents HAIRSPRAY
You can’t stop the beat! HAIRSPRAY is coming to Indianapolis from February 21st to 26th, and this show is recommended for kids ages eight and older. From the event website, “Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical comedy phenomenon is back on tour! Join 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad in 1960’s Baltimore as she sets out to dance her way onto TV’s most popular show. Can a girl with big dreams (and even bigger hair) change the world?”

Toddler Time at the Indiana State Museum

Engineers Day at the Children’s Museum
On Saturday, February 25th, head to the Children’s Museum for Engineers Day! It’s a day of exploration and, you guessed it, engineering. Local engineers will lead hands-on activities involving science and problem solving. Free for members or museum admission.

Winter Blast at Clay Terrace
Winter fun for the whole family! Clay Terrace’s Winter Blast will be located on the Village Green from 11:00 am-2:00 pm on February 25th. The event will include carriage rides, face painting, a hot chocolate trail, and more. There will even be ice sculptures, carved live.

Sensory Skate Night at Carter Green
Sensory Skate Night at the Ice at Carter Green is an annual tradition, allowing for a sensory-friendly skate session on February 26th from 5:00-7:00 pm. This event is geared toward children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, or any special needs children. And the best part – it’s FREE.

Midwest Reptile Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds
Leaping lizards! The Midwest Reptile Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds will showcase reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, mammals, and more. Children 8 and under are free and the show will be hosted at the Harvest Pavilion.

The Cat in the Hat at the Tarkington Theater
“The Cat in the Hat is the perfect friend for a boring rainy afternoon.
