Meet our Indianapolis Moms: Angie Hall

0

Hey mamas! I’m Angie. My truth is shared through my words the good, bad, and downright messy. Aren’t we all hanging by a thread?  I’m a 42-year-old mama of Graham (9 years) and Grace (17 months) and married to my greatest love, Mike, for 16 years. Two spunky mini-labradoodles, Miles and Griffin, never leave our side. I was adopted as an infant, as well as my sweet children.  What a cool bond we share. Infertility rocked my world, yet in my heart, the calling to adopt was always undeniable. Adoption is full of tears, uncertainty, trust, and love. I always longed to be a mama. How can you adequately thank two biological moms for making the greatest sacrifice? Two very different birth stories and each pure and beautiful.

Life happens on God’s timing, not mine.

I grew up in Indianapolis and now reside in Westfield. Next year, I will start my 19th year in education. Special education is my heart. Teaching reminds me of what’s good and pure in this world. Children have so much fire in their souls and grace in their hearts. My life is a balancing act, and most of the time, I’m hanging by a thread. Being a mama, teacher, wife, and just doing all the things is tricky. Self-care…what’s that? I’m working on it. Can you relate?

July of 2017. My cell phone rang, and I just knew. My biological mom had breast cancer, so I knew I had to be proactive before the age of 40 with mammograms. A routine mammogram quickly turned into an ultrasound, biopsy, and a breast cancer diagnosis. That day. That call that brought me to my knees. Breast cancer picked the wrong mama! No woman should walk this road alone. My heart is full when I am mentoring and loving on other women traveling through some of their darkest days. If I waited until I turned 40, I would not be alive today. Schedule your mammogram today and make it 3D!

Family time is my most cherished time. Yet, this mama needs to get away! Often forcing myself to breathe, rest, and just “be.” My passions are thrift shopping, breweries, reading, red wine, journaling, napping, exercising, watching 90 Day Fiance, and the Bachelor (never missed a season)!  Indianapolis Moms has connected me to mamas I never knew I needed in my life. A unity that allows me to be the real, unfiltered Angie. They remind me that you can be a mess and a good mama. Love having the space to be in community with real moms sharing stories and bonding over shared mama experiences. Take time to read and be inspired! Life is best when we connect with others. Grab a glass of wine, relax, and know Indianapolis Moms is walking by your side through this life. Cheers!
