Since being homebound for the last several weeks, it is clear that I took a lot of the things we did everyday for granted. Like hugging and quick trips to the store and date night. But the one thing I miss tremendously is our monthly Moms Night Out dinners. These evenings were put on the calendar on January 1st and we stuck to them like glue because there is nothing better than that one night away with your mom best friends.
And then the world changed.
But I’m thankful for technology in this day and age. It has helped me not only stay in contact with family and friends from all over the country, but it has also helped me stay connected with my group of mom besties. We were determined to keep our monthly night out dates but we had to be creative. And that is where we meet Houseparty.
Houseparty is a face-to-face social network with the mission to bring empathy to online communication. We spent several hours catching up on life, playing trivia and drinking wine in the comfort of our homes while safely social distancing. We may not be able to be together in person, but we are so grateful that Houseparty allows us to still feel connected even during an uncertain and stressful time – and in our yoga pants too!
