Lionheart Children’s Academy is a non-profit Christian organization committed to excellence in early childhood education. Recently opening a location in the First Baptist Church of Greenwood, they are passionate about equipping kids to be world changers. Lionheart is avid about supporting working parents who need both quality and affordable care and education for their children. We recently had the opportunity to connect with Jasmine Riley, the director of the Greenwood center, and asked her to share more about what Lionheart Children’s Academy can offer Indianapolis area families.
What ages and programs are offered at Lionheart Children’s Academy?
Programs are offered for children starting as early as six weeks up to Pre-K aged. “This allows our preschoolers a variety to choose from either part-time or full-time. The infant through toddlers is a full-time option,” Riley shares with us. Programming is also offered during school breaks for school aged children.
What makes Lionheart Children’s Academy unique from other childcare centers in the area?
“We firmly believe that every child is uniquely and wonderfully made and that they deserve love and respect from everyone. Our heart is that every child knows that they are made by God, that God loves them and that God is their friend.” Jasmine says they are able to incorporate this into their curriculum, which is what makes Lionheart different from other centers in the area.
Lionheart mentions that their focus is the whole child approach in education. Can you explain to families what this means and what it looks like?
“At Lionheart, we take a holistic approach to learning that is nurturing in all areas of development. We want more for our children than just the academic success. We desire that our children are whole, healthy, connected, engaged, problem solvers and respect for every individual.” According to Jasmine, Lionheart’s educational values are designed through the eye of the child and not just the teacher. “Our curriculum is called Experience Early Learning, so they are also able to pull in what they are excited about in the classroom as well.” Jasmine mentions that it is called the whole approach because they are teaching the children through families, faith and education.
