It’s spooky season, and I am here for all the witchy mom magic. Halloween season is the perfect time to ignite your creativity and inspire new traditions that your kids will love! One of my favorite new traditions is hosting a “Witch’s Lunch,” and I’m going to share a few tips and tricks to encourage you to embrace your inner witch and enjoy new traditions this season.
Witchy Wardrobe
Start with your wardrobe. Opt for long, flowing dresses or capes in dark, mysterious colors like black, dark purple, or emerald green. Really commit. Practice your loudest witch cackle. And don’t forget the accessories—think classic pointy hat, dramatic jewelry, and of course, a broomstick.
Don’t forget about your little witches and warlocks. Offer kid-sized pointy hats and accessories like spider rings and witch’s fingers so your guests can get into character.
Spooky Home Decor
Transform your home into a witch’s lair with some spooky decor. Use candles, lanterns, and twinkle lights shrouded in gauzy fabric to set the stage. Decorate with old glass bottles labeled as potions and add fake cobwebs and plastic spiders around the table for an eerie touch. Your home will feel like a true witch’s haven.
Witchy Activities
Get the whole family involved with some fun witchy activities. Try potion-making with the kids using safe ingredients like colored water, glitter, and dry ice for a smoky effect. Create a spell book filled with fun, harmless spells and recipes for spooky treats. Gather around and tell spooky stories or read a favorite Halloween book.
Spooky Treats
No witchy celebration is complete without some spooky treats. This year, I plan to serve skull-shaped pancakes, Jello in the shape of brains, mummy-wrapped hotdogs, apple monster faces, and spider cookies. I recommend serving drinks in mini cauldrons and using food coloring to make them look magical. Create a spooky punch with floating “eyeballs” made from peeled grapes for a truly eerie touch.
Witchy Crafts
Get crafty with some witchy projects. Craft wands using sticks, paint, and glitter. Fill small jars with glitter, beads, and other small items to create “spell jars.” Make mini explosions with baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring. These crafts are not only fun but also allow your guests to get creative and personalize their spooky souvenirs.
Embrace the Witchy Vibe
Finally, fully embrace the witchy vibe. Play some eerie, mystical music in the background to set the mood. Take walks in nature and collect items like leaves, stones, and feathers for your witchy crafts. Let the magic of the season set the tone.
Following these tips will make you the spookiest, most enchanting mom witch around. Have fun and enjoy the magic of Halloween!
